Now let’s discuss some of these great deer repellents.
This type of deer repellent is considered to be one of the most effective on the market.
These products are applied to your desirable plants every month or 2 to ensure that deer stay away from them.
It uses scents that deer can’t stand and as a result, they tend to show no interest in the treated plants.
Some of these scents include putrescent eggs, garlic, and chili peppers which deer find very disturbing.
2 of our favorite deer repellent sprays are from Bobbex and Liquid Fence. These products have outstanding track records and are considered some of the best deer deterrents.
Reviewers have shown great appreciation for deer repellent sprays. Although it takes some mild effort, users have noted that it has been well worth it as their yards and gardens are flourishing!
All of these products come with money-back guarantees which means the manufacturers have removed all of the risk from the buying process.

This product is one of the best ways to keep deer out of any defined area.
It is simply sprinkled on the ground around the perimeter of your garden or yard.
This product is similar to the smell emitted from a deer carcass and as such, deer normally refuse to go near it.
These granules are far more convenient than sprays in that they last longer, don’t require mixing, and make a defined barrier.
When this product’s life is over, it will automatically degrade into a nitrogen-rich fertilizer.
We love these granules and think that they’re one of the best deer deterrents available!

Next on our list is one of the best ways to keep deer away from any area.
Ultrasonic deer repellers use a specific set of frequencies that deer can’t tolerate.
As a result, they stay far away from these devices!
These repellents are very convenient to use as they don’t require periodic applications like the spray and granule products above.
One of our favorite products from this category is the Pest Soldier Sentinel. It is one of the best ultrasonic products available and has a very wide coverage area.
Secondly, the Hoont Animal Repeller has proven to be a worthy adversary in the best ultrasonic deer repellent category. It uses ultrasonic sounds, an integrated light and a solar panel all in 1 discrete unit.
Both of the aforementioned products come well recommended from thousands of users on the web.
We think they’re a necessary addition to any garden or yard!

We consider these lights to be fantastic complimentary deer deterrents.
They can’t act as a sole repellent since they only work at night to repel deer but they are great to use in addition to other deer repellents.
They use integrated solar panels to charge themselves during the day and emit frightening light patterns at night to scare deer away.
Deer do the vast majority of their destruction at night so these products provide great insurance to help your primary deer deterrent in the dark!
They have outstanding ratings on Amazon from tons of people who swear by their performance.
We think these are an absolute requirement for any deer-free yard!

These repellents are one of the best ways to set up a defined deer-free perimeter around your yard.
They use integrated sensors to detect when deer come near and spray them up to 35 feet away.
The combination of the sprinkler activation sound and the sensation of being sprayed with water is normally enough to persuade deer to go elsewhere.
Multiple sprinklers may be linked together depending on how large the area is that you’re looking to protect.
They have received numerous favorable reviews stating how well they work to keep deer out of peoples’ yards.
We think they are a very innovative and effective solution to your deer-related issues!

These products are to be used as an absolute last resort.
They require considerably more effort to install than the other deterrents listed above but may be the only solution if you have a persistent deer problem.
Once set up, you will never have to worry about deer again since they will be unable to penetrate a properly erected deer fence.
They are usually about 7ft high to avoid deer from jumping over them and are made from heavy-duty mesh.
This mesh is affixed to posts that go around the perimeter of your garden or yard.
A deer fence is essential for anyone looking to completely eradicate deer from their properties.
If, however you’re only looking to protect a few selected plants, Deer Netting is another alternative.

My parents have been noticing that a lot of deer and an occasional elk will pass through their backyard and trample their vegetable garden. They’re trying to figure out a way to keep them out. I like your point about how a deer fence will completely fix this issue. I didn’t really know that a typical deer fence is usually seven feet high. I suppose that would make sense considering that these types of animals can run and jump pretty large distances.
That’s right Lucy! Most people put up fences thinking it will keep deer out but fail to realize just how high these animals can jump. That’s why a deer fence must be employed that is a minimum of 7ft tall!
Although there are easier deer deterrents to implement, a deer fence should certainly be used in the event that you haven’t had success with Electronic Deer Repellents or Natural Deer Repellents.
We hope this information has helped you in your effort to get rid of deer in your vegetable garden!
Nothing will get rid of my deer and my dog barks at them all night. Live by a small spring fed creek and one was lying down in yard about five feet away. Have too much land and too little money to fence. Now what?
Have you tried any of the electronic deer repellents mentioned on this site?
For larger areas such as yours we generally recommend using a deer fence. However, since that is not an option for you, we would advise going with an ultrasonic deer repellent or a deer repellent sprinkler.
Please let us know how they work out for you!
